I feel like when I try to share useful information online, I'm doing something akin to this scene in Dave, a movie I've never seen, where Dave lays out a lovely spread of gorgeous healthy food which dominates the view for part of the scene and makes a giant sandwich, cuts it in half and puts each half on a plate, one for himself and one for the guard to whom he is speaking. And the guard apparently declines to eat any of it.
And then people kick the ever living shit out of me as if they feel like Tom Hanks in Saving Private Ryan WATCHING people eat sandwiches and shave and indulge in other luxuries to which he has had no access in some time and which they are not offering to share with him.
As if they feel like Tom Hanks but lack any veneer of civility and feel entitled to take your stuff and punish you for supposedly "not sharing" when sharing is exactly what I'm doing and wondering why, like the guard in the first clip, they are choosing to not partake of nourishment.
