I have had r/Eclogiselle for like three years or so. It was private and I recently submitted a request to make it public which was apparently approved without bothering to notify me but I got around to checking the settings today and it's listed as public.
I previously proposed that people could use the hashtag #Eclogiselle for things related to my work and I gave permission at that time for people to translate my work.
I've never personally found anything online with that hashtag and no one has ever emailed me or otherwise messaged me to tell me they have translated my work etc.
Before trying to make the sub public and discovering Reddit had changed its policy some months ago and now you have to ASK permission to change that setting, I removed most of the content from the sub. I left one link to a discussion on Hacker News where someone told me they were working on stuff IRL inspired by my writing and public comments.
They said they would email me and never did.
That's not the only time I have seen something online suggesting people act on things I say online but it's the most clear statement I have that this person did something because of my writing and opinions on certain topics.
I usually have to INFER "The timing and phrasing of that looks to me like that's a consequence of my actions." And then when I try to tell other people "I first used that phrase at x time and shortly thereafter there was a spate of articles using it." I get told I'm a nutter and it's "a common phrase" and has nothing to do with me.
If you know of a translation of my work or anything else related to my work, you can submit it to this sub. I have absolutely no idea why people seem to use my work without crediting me or notifying me while absolutely no one talks to me.
